2019-2020 Fowl Plains Recap

Fowl Plains inaugural season of 2019-2020 was overall an exciting year. As most of you know the weather played a pivotal factor in our migration as much of the Central Flyway can attest to. Although our duck numbers were substantially lower then the average year in Kansas, overall the hunting was phenomenal. Running just one group a day we had one hell of a season. Season totals were approximately 2800 birds. 

-2100 Geese (Specks, Snows, Lessers, Greaters)

-700 Ducks (Mallards, Gadwalls, Pintails, Widgeon, Teal)

-3 Bands!

-Best day this years was 122! What an epic day. 

-Best three day hunt 198 birds 

We have had a tremendous response to the 2019-2020 fowl plains season. At this point just over 85% of our hunters from the 2019-2020 season have rebooked for the 2020-2021 season. Our goal from the start was to get that number as close to 100% as possible.

We feel as though our efforts are much better spent trying to foster and build relationships with our hunters that will keep them coming back to Kansas. Instead of focusing on trying to get new clients each and every year. We love to have everyone possibly come back year after year for the “Fowl Plains Experience.”

2020-2021 Season updates

We are looking forward to the upcoming season in Central Kansas! With dates booking up quickly we are excited about what the 20/21 season has in store for you here at Fowl Plains!

New for 2020-2021 Season

With the goal of always trying to improve your experience here at Fowl Plains we are excited to announce a couple of changes for this upcoming season at Fowl Plains. They include:

• Bird processing included in the price of your hunt 
• The addition of an optional afternoon pheasant hunt

Addition of new guides

We also are excited to announce the addition of a few more experienced guides for this upcoming season. With the goal of always providing the best quality waterfowl hunt we can, we felt it necessary to bring in a few more well versed and highly motivated guides for the 2020-2021 season. 

Additional News!

This year we are aiming at trying to fully embrace our tag line here at Fowl Plains “Its more than a hunt.”

This year groups that have fully booked the lodge to themselves will have another option that we are excited about. Prior to your arrival you will have the opportunity to choose what you guys would like to eat!

A “menu” will be sent prior to your arrival for your group to choose from an excellent menu of food to keep you “fat and happy” after smashing birds in the mornings. These options will include the following:

• Cajun-style Gumbo
• Smoked ribs 
• Whole smoked chicken
• Prime Rib
• Steak

There will be different options for each day to choose from. We are excited to offer the best quality meals that we can during the hunters stay!
